Project 365

I am trying to get caught up with the P365 pictures, we've been pretty busy lately. Mr. Skinner is installing most of our flooring, and I help when I can. Usually by the time I get home from work, Matt is ready to stop for the day. This past Saturday we pulled up the living room carpet...and let's just say I'm glad we didn't really know what was under there before! My allergies are going CRAZY, and I don't feel so good because of it. I can't wait until this part is over! Hopefully I will be up to date on the Project 365 photos by the end of the week, but I am not making any promises...right now I'd much rather help as much as can with the floors. There is NOTHING like coming home to shiny new floors. THANK YOU MATT FOR THE GREAT JOB YOU ARE DOING!!

Sunset on a Hammock...

This was my first attempt using a brayer for background color. I used red, orange and yellow for the sunset and a cool aqua for the water. I tore pieces of vellum and adhered them to the bottom for a little dimension. For it to stand out a little bit more I used the sponge to add a little more color to the "waves". I don't think it's too bad for my first try.

On My Couch

This set is from Papertrey Ink- On My Couch, designed by Lisa Johnson. I used Red Riding Hood for the Couch, and colored in the rest with SU! Markers. I used foam dots to give the couch a little dimension.

Positive Thinking

Enthusiastic Attitude
Stop fighting against what you have to do.
Turn it into what you want to do.For any given task, you can be miserable and plodding or you can be enthusiastic and highly effective.
It all depends on your attitude.Instead of dreading and avoiding something that you must get done, choose to look forward to it. Then jump in, make it happen, and get it finished once and for all. It's really very easy to make a change in your attitude.
You can do it without lifting a finger. With a positive, enthusiastic attitude toward whatever task you must complete, the work will go more quickly and smoothly.
And, you'll feel a whole lot better while doing it.Decide that you truly want to get it done, and soon you'll be reaping the rewards of your effective effort.

Wedding Guest Book

Matt and I had our religious wedding March 7, 2009, 1 day before our 13th anniversary. I made this for our guests to sign. I got the idea from the DIY Bride book. Yes, I made every bit of it, the front and back covers, cut the paper to size and hole punched it, everything. Well, except the embossed paper I got at Michael's in Nashville and the sticker is from Martha Stewart. (I love Martha!!) It took a little bit of time, but well worth it in the end!

Birthday card

I made this birthday card for Marlene, who used to babysit Sebastian when he was a baby. To say she is special to us is an understatement. When Alex began First grade, her daughter Tina (Mrs. Lane) was his teacher. Here's Sebastian, Marlene, Alex & Tina.

I tried to show the 3-D on the card, not sure if you can see it or not. All stamps by My Favorite Things, and used chalk, Copics and SU! markers to color everything in.
